I have a lot of cows where i live and the deer hear them all the time mooing it doesn't bother them at all just another sound of nature they get use to hearing.
Tony since you don't have a quad or snowmobile to use during ice fishing season think you can get him to drag your gear out onto the lake?
Now I'm not for animal cruelty, but sometimes you need to get your point across, so wack it across the nose w/ the nock end of an arrow. I bet it won't follow you again:D.
