I have not got to shoot it yet, I bought this from Grand Rapids MN about 2hrs from my house and the accesories was so picked over that they did not have anything I really wanted to put on my bow so I bought the NAP apache rest and tru glo range rover sight at Gander Mountain in Bemidji MN but of course they don't have a bow press that works with my bow so now I have to make another trip to Grand Rapids to have them set my bow up with a peep and properly put my rest on. As soon as I get to shoot it, hopfully in a couple of weeks I'll let you know what I think. I know it is a big upgrade from my browning bow I shot.
I was considering a Bowtech bow like my hunting partners Assassin,, but got the Quest Primal with the G-Fade 70lb 29 draw....Which is an up grade from my Matthews X3 60lb 27 draw. I was cheated by an outfitter with the Matthews of $700 dollars on the bow. After informing Matthews and they verifying what happen they tried to fix the problem, but after spending an additional $300 dollars on top of the $700 dollars. I lost total confidence in the bow. Got the Quest Primal and the first kid I came across was crying because someone broke into his family home and stole everything including his Kid size bow. His family didn't have enough money for a new bow. Strictly by chance I was in sporting goods parking lot and over hearing the story in the store. So I gave him the Matthews Mission X3. The kid is happy but for me.... Sorry never again Matthews "NEVER"!
Boy that was lucky for that kid that you came along when you did. Funny how things work like that sometimes. I looked at the Primal too. Definatly a nice looking bow. But something drew me to the Invasion. I was able to serve my string for my Apache rest tonight myself after watching some youtube videos. All I need is a d-loop now and I can start shooting.
Congrats on your new Invasion , i have one and its bad azz , your gonna love it , keep an eye on the cam lean as the cables stretch a bit dont worry about what the lean looks like at rest keep an eye on it at full draw , had to reset mine about 3 times , and keep an eye on the timing marks on the cam , the best feel and performance i got out of mine was with the first set of timing marks cutting the center of the cables , after i reset mine on my press about 3 or 4 times through about 4000 shots it has stayed put ..........and no peep rotation at all .
That kind of sucks for me. I don't have a bow press and my bow guy is a 2 hr drive to adjust. Thanks for warning me on what to watch for. I just bought my d-loop so I'm going to try to tie it on myself. I know the knot but it's alittle scary pulling the bow back for the first time.
Well I got my d loop on and shot about 30 arrows through it. I have not got my peep on it yet, but after I do I'll get it sighted in good and then take it in to a pro shop to time the cams. Right now the cable is about 1/32 off from the marks after shooting today. I did pull the bow back 2 times when I first got it to feel the draw weight without an arrow on it. I shouldn't of I know but I didnt even have a rest or anything yet. The bow amazed me though. No hand shock No noise and blazing fast. WOW! I think I'm in love
Very good shooting bow. Have worked on a ton of these things and they are definitely easy and fun to work on. Congrats on the new bow and good luck!
Yea I just found out the hard way, with my release. The Calipers gave way with a 70lb bow drawn back half way....POW!! Right into the mouth, with a Right back fist. Busting my lip and knocking loose a tooth.
LOL Thats crazy. I've never heard of that happening before. I kind of wish I would of went with the 60lb bow, 30 shots with the 70lb bow made my shoulder sore. But my release held up
Got mine last spring, and LOVE IT!! No shock, fast, solid wall, and for me just a tack driver. Have fun!!
Thanks I just got my whisper peep installed tonight and I have work off tomarrow so I'm going to have fun sighting it in. The whisper peep is pretty awesome looking my only regret is that I should of went one size smaller i think.
I read a thread about this bow being an under achiever and wanted to research it alittle more and went on youtube and looked at the outdoor product review on this bow. He shot a 408 grain victory arrow and the bow is 70lb at 29 inches and he got 315fps. He also gave the bow a 10 on his review. That is the fastest speed of any of the other 2011 bows he shot. I know speed is over rated but I seen a post where people didn't think this was a fast bow and I thought I'd defend my bow with the help of youtube
