These last couple of years have been really tough on most of us. People have been very safe with their money, or at least reluctant to purchase "unnecessary" items (such as the latest bow). This has been my situation even though I fell in love with the new Mathews Monster when I shot it at the local bow shop.

Today I was offered $1000 for my dust collecting 1997 YZ 80. Hmmm......OK! I only ride the thing about twice a year, so I really don't think I'm going to miss it that much. Plus, the buyer is one of my childhood hunting buddies (So, I can borrow it whenever I want to!)

He is waiting for his income tax check to arrive, but it's a done deal.

    Here's the build list:

    1. Mathews Monster 28 1/2 @ 70lbs

    2. Easton Axis (Black) 340 (3-4" Feathers)

    3. QAD Ultra Rest HD

    4. String Supressor (model undecided)

    5. Split Limb Savers

    6. G5 Meta Peep

    7. Kisser Button

    8. Sight, Stabilizer, Quiver, Case - Stripped off the old Mathews Q2. (Until more $ arrives!!??)

    Estimated Total Price - $1300

Man I can't wait! I'll keep you guys updated on its birth!

Yes, and smooth! (If it has a string supressor and split limb savers.)

Yes I shot the reezen, alien, 82nd, captain, X-force Gx and dream season, alphamax, and firecat. The two companies that I didn't get to try were Elite and APA. I am very interested in trying these bows, but there are no dealers anywhere near me. Maybe they will find a place close by, and then I will give them a shot. I'm probably not going to buy a new bow for a VERY long time (At least 5-6 years). The Monster was the SMOOTHEST bow iv'e ever shot and also one of the fastest. It was a no brainer!

Good luck with your new bow, I shot the Monster but love my Denalin better. One thing I found about the Monster is that if, you give just a 1/4" let up in draw it feels like the cams are going to throw your arm forward. So I decided, my 07 Drenalin is still a great bow for me and looks as it did when it left the dealer back when I bought it.

I shot about 10 rounds out of a Monster, Reezen, and Epic a couple of days ago...I wasn't impressed at all! I believe the older model Matthews are
much higher quality. Just me...however, the Epic wasn't too shabby.
