Thats what I did, easier and cheaper! I've heard when using the tubes that if you don't trim them "just" right they keep spitting your nock out when they hit the target! You also need to squeeze them so they don't slide while inside the arrow, I guess this is one of the reason your nocks will pop out!

Russ, what kind of epoxy should I get for my upper bow limb that I'm going to try and repair where It's splintering?

    Steve.

My first suggestion would be Smooth On but it's expensive my next would be AeroMarine 300/11 about 1/2 the price of Smooth On.

The only problem is with both you have to get atleast a pint:mad1:

If you can get any good 24 hour 2 part epoxy from the hardware store, that way you only have to get the small tube size. If you have access to a heat box just put the limb in for a couple of hours,it wont take all that long to cure a small amount in the box.

Try wrapping the limb with electrical tape once you have the epoxy on it might be a pain to get off but atleast you will have some pressure on the splinter.

I won't have access to an oven/heat box like I thought I was going to have earlier with my brothers longbow. I should be able to do this without right? I'm going to go with the AeroMarine 300/11. What grit of sand paper am I all going to need to start out with and finish with?

    Thanks!!

I've only shot them once so far. I fired off about 50 arrows the other evening and they flew awesome and man did they have some authority to them, wow!! I'm going to use my 2216's until there all used up, I have about 8 of them left. Hopefully they last through out the hunting season this year so next year I can start out fresh with FMJ's. If they don't make It through the summer and or bear and deer hunting, I guess I'll be getting myself some FMJ's this year.:d

Good to hear brother, good to hear! Its pretty amazing how much a heavy arrow smacks a target! Is you bow shooting any different that you can tell from shooting a heavier arrow? Is it quieter??

Sounds pretty much the same, not really any quieter from what I can tell. My arrows actually fly better I believe. Also there Is no drop what so ever out to 25 yards which I did have before with my other set up. I didn't try shooting any farther then that. Like Russ said earlier, momentum!!
