So so lucky Guys, I'm rooting for you all :D Matt, I'm.sure you'll have great memories of hunting with your Dad to share in the future. Stay safe, shoot straight
Got my either sex Elk tag over the phone today but have to buy the bear tag in person because the season already started for bear:-/ Can't wait
Andrew, Is there leftover bear tags available over the counter I'm guessing? I heard they increased limits this year...I could have used one last year - first and only bear I have seen in the wild...brown colored at 30 yards...just stared at me...would have made a nice rug
Bear tags are over the counter but they cap how many they sell last I knew there were still some Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
thanks They told me 16 left as of 2pm today but said I could get lucky. Many people that want them have already bought them.
I'm guessing most have theirs already too. I'm surprised that you have to get it in person though why can't they do it over the phone or internet? I bet they don't use all them. I wonder if it is a state specifice cap or a unit specific cap. I think three units are included in my bear tag but I didn't look that closely.
have you seen many bears there when hunt? I have a call into the hunter help line in CO to see if they can help me out.
This will be my first time in this unit I always elk hunted south over by South Fork area. However Will and Matt have said there are bears in this unit as Will has taken some in the past and I believe one walked past Matt last year if I'm not mistaken.
Andrew let us know what you find out I don't see why it would have to be purchased in person. I'd also like to know if it is a state cap or per unit cap on number of tags.
The only way is ask someone in CO with a copy of my DL, CID# and safety course card to go in and get it. To much bother:-/ live and learn. down to 11 left today
Hope I remeber my camera so I can get a lot of pics of camp, hunters, and trophies! Made sure the battery was charged and have to pick up a couple more things in town and I'll be ready to go. My new cot and sleeping pad came in yesterday so I hope its comfortable. A week from today and the fun starts. Hope you guys are good cooks
Well this weekend I picked up a couple game bags for meat so I hope I get to use them. I also got my quiver and stablizer on my evo. I'm not a fan of changing bows this close to season but I've been shooting it a lot and getting very comfortable with it. This time saturday I'll be in the mountains and can't wait so that I can get away from it all. I've shot a lot of doves and plan on cooking dove breast wrapped in bacon as well as jalepeno poppers Saturday afternoon in camp.
I didn't see any bears while I was In 45 but I did see some sign of them and a few tracks. If I remember correctly Will said the bears are more to the south and west of the big camp last year.
Thanks Shultzy I'll keep that in mind. I'm not really looking for a bear just have a tag in case I come across one.
