I've been sucessful on some long shots before but I hear I've only got about 30sec from the time you see each other and the time watch him trot off:)

I'm not into taking crazy shots but it just makes focus more on my practicing.

If I make this trip, I'm shooting a Longbow, my maximum range will be 20yds max. I best make sure I don't eat Garlic a week before coming out !!!!!

Looks like Rexy and a few other will be in camp as early as the 8th. Feel free to come early if you have the time.

Andrew - obviously long range practice/accuracy is always useful...but I will add that the majority of my elk encounters have been in the dark timber where 40 yard shots are not typically possible. Sometimes even getting 15 yards clear can be hard to find:)

Dave - keep us posted on your status...

Will - I really enjoyed the international flare last time at your camp...anxious to see who shows this time.

Real sorry to say Guys, but I'm out this year, there's no way I can hunt this time with the way things are. I hope I can catch up with you all again sometime in the near future and I'll still keep an eye on the thread to see how things are going.

    take it easy guys.

I'm getting an either sex tag and a bear tag so the first thing that moves within 50yds of me is going in the cooler:)

Thanks Dave - obviously it will be a great time regardless - my dad is coming along this year and my good friend who went last year. I hope to have a great story and pics to share with you...

We'll meet up again at No Name Road...no doubt about that...

I've got an antlerless elk tag and a black bear tag and have started getting everything lined out ready to go. I should arrive in camp on the 15th early afternoon.
