The taxi called yesterday and said my mount was done I picked it up but still had to finish the habitat for the backboard I made, so pics had to wait till today. When I picked it up there was a tag on the rack stating that I was a dead man from none other that our own Tuco :D (you suck) :D The Taxi did an outstanding job and im happy with the way it turned out. He left the split ear and broken brow per my request. The hair was a little thin behind his very tiny ears from agressive rubbing The manikin is a Joe Coombs swivel pedistal. It can be rotated left or right so I can gauk at all the angles :D I kinda owe a Thanks to Greg/Mo for sparking my brain for the mount Greg had called me one day and was lending congrats on my buck, and ask how I was going to have him mounted. I said likely a shoulder mount, and he said why not like the one I had made for Hunsuckers swivel mount. I should have thought of that so thanks Greg I used old barn wood for the back and half octagon. I stole some rusty metal strip off my wifes horse drawn wagon in the front yard to hide all the new cuts. (She has no idea) :D The hanger is an old rusty barn hinge and the fake dirt is made using Redried coffee grounds, peat moss mixed with leaf litter and pine needles, and a mix of elmers white glue and water. I wanted to be able to incorporate his sheds with the mount so this is what I ended up with. If fang would have kept his other brow he would have grossed almost exactly what this other buck did. Leather backing, Habitat, and sheds. swilels on a section of old tree piece Only thing I dont like is the slight tilt in this manikin. Fangs rack is about " higher on one side anyway from two different shaped main beams any way and the head tilt magnifies it. It wont stay in this position.
Thanks guys, I just cant believe how quick it got done, and it feels good to have him back! I hold some special memories with that buck that will last forever!
