Yesterday, while driving the tractor to the back of the property, a big limb fell from a tree and hit me across the back, knocking the wind out of me and pinning me between it and the steering wheel of the tractor. After getting my breath back and getting past the shock, I was able to free myself from my predicament. I tried to move the limb off the tractor but it was way too heavy to move. With my back hurting pretty bad, I gimped the quarter mile back to the barn and got the come-along and some chain. With the assistance of a nearby oak tree, I got the limb off the tractor and brought the equipment home. Took some Advil and a warm shower followed with ice packs last night. Today, it was kind of difficult to get out of bed, but the kids were coming with my granddaughter. I did more ice packs and Advil before the got here and after they left. I don't think I did damage to any organs and think it's just tissue damage. I think I'm pretty lucky! Had I been a split second later, that limb would have hit me in the head and probably killed me. Now, if I can keep my wife from seeing the bruising I'll be really really lucky!
Wow! That's straight craziness! Glad you're ok, and I hope the fallen limb at least opened up a shooting lane for you!
Dang close call there! Take it easy and get healed up! Hope your right and it's just bruising and soreness
That definitely would have been a different story had it hit you in the head....count your blessings! Blessings........Pastorjim
