took my daughter out for the first time last week. It didn't last too long but we had fun. The best part is when she looked up at me and said, "I love you daddy" She is 4 and will be a hunter. i have a 7 yo son but he just isn't into hunting.

That's the stuff right there! Nice work, dad. Hunting with your kid makes getting a deer nothing but a bonus on a great time already. Can't wait to get home from Afghanistan so I can take my little ones Turkey hunting this spring.

That's great, Dmen! Congrats on raising a little Huntress. Her camo facepaint looks awesome.

I have a little boy that isn't into hunting, too. But he keeps telling me, "Maybe next year, Daddy." It isn't that he doesn't like the IDEA of hunting, he just hates sitting still and finds no excitement in being calm and watching / listening to the critters in the forest. He's the same way with fishing. That's been like a double-fisted punch to my gut... I'm man enough to admit that I'm a little jealous of you!

I hear what your saying there my friend. My older two tell me they can take it or leave it but at least the third one is a natural born killer, he wants to spend as much time in the woods with me as he can. And man does he ever have incredible eyes to help out with spotting critters.

You could kill a 300" buck and the smile would not even come close to the one you have there. Very cool man...

Great post! I have a seven year old that loves to fish, but just ain't into hunting. On the other hand, my five year old is all hunter. We seriously have to check his pockets each day to see what he has stuffed in there. Yes, we have found frogs in his pockets before. Just two months ago we were walking down the sidewalk in Tampa, Fl. and all I heard him say was, "LIZARD"! When I looked over all I saw was his feet as the rest of him was in the bushes trying to catch the thing.

It's also nice to see all the guys in Afghanistan posting. Thank you guys for your service and I can't wait till you all can come home and hunt again with the rest of us.

I can relate I have two daughters 7 and 3 and they love going hunting with their daddy ... sweet, sweet stuff ain't it. Haven't found anything more enjoyable in my 39 years of life. :tu:
