no one is harder on you than yourself! at least thats the way it should be.... congratz on finding it, i know it would make me feel better. try not to dwel on the shot too much, we all know here that you are very accomplished and work very hard! get em' again next yr!
Congrats on the buck! I know the recovery isn't what you had imagined, but nonetheless, talk about doing everything you can to recover a deer. Oh, and when I heard "less than a shooter," that's certainly not what I had imagined:D
Congrats Christine !! I think there has been a few guys on here that have been emotional wrecks when things didn't go right. Glad you found the buck !! Tim
Congratulation's Christine!! Bad or good ending, It Is what It Is. None the less you got It done, congratulation's girl!!!
Thanks guys. Your kind words really do help lift my spirits. Today I'm feeling more lucky and thankful than bummed. John, we did take the blood trailing dog out the next day but it was pouring rain and super windy so I don't think she stood much of a chance.
How'd I miss this? Great buck Christine!! I know you said it'd been a week or so, but I can't remember how the temps were then... was he slipping? Or will you have to get another cape... if you're going to mount him.
Greg, the hair was pretty firmly holding.. but the skin is green so I just cut off his head for a euro mount. I'll post a picture of it when it's done. (have to wait for the weather to cooperate... not going to do that one on the stove)
Congratulations Christine! Sorry it didn't happen the way you would have wished it to! Definitely better to have certainty.
Congrats Christine. Way to stick with him. It's tough when you make a bad shot, but you followed through.
