A group of 14 of us went to Bow Safari for a hog hunt this past weekend. If you're looking for a place to hunt hogs, DO NOT GO HERE! They used to be a reputable, professional outfit. Not anymore. We left with a very sour taste, and if I remember correctly, they told us there are only 2 more hunts to take place here. I won't get into all the details, but suffice to say we will never go back, and I'm telling everyone I know not to as well.

Of 14 people, hunting 2 full days, we killed NOTHING. In fact, there are only a couple of us that even saw any hogs at all. I saw about 30 Friday evening, with the majority of those 30 being piglets. I did see a couple of very large boars, but I just couldn't get the shot I wanted. I had the right angle a couple of times but had brush in the way. Or, they were open shots with a poor angle. So, I decided I wasn't shooting. I had 3 inside of 20 yards for half an hour, and just couldn't get it done.

No hogs the rest of the weekend. That was it. Not a single pig to be found. But, there were some cool animals on the place and I took quite a few pictures. So while I have no kill photos, I may as well share these.

This first one is my buddy Dave. He is the one who owns the gun shop I now work at, and we've been friends for nearly 20 years.

This one is me, for those of you who don't already know. Damn I look good!

This is one of the pigs I had in range. He was about 40 yards when I took this picture, and I estimated him to be in the 150 lb range. Nice pig, and I wanted to shoot him, BAD. But I just couldn't make it happen.

We had the option of shooting 2 hogs or 1 exotic doe. And with all the pigs I saw Friday evening, I had no reason to suspect I wouldn't see a single pig the rest of the weekend. So a couple of these fallow does I could have taken at 22 yards Saturday morning. But, I was hog hunting so I passed on the shot. You'll notice 1 of them is white. We wanted her bad, but she just never came in range.

    Couple of nice Fallow Bucks.

And hell, it looks like I neglected to save the doe pictures to my external hard drive, so I don't have those available at the moment. I'll add them to a reply post later this evening.

Dang, buddy... you seem to have the worst kind of luck on things like these.

Can't wait to see you go on a trip some time and come back and report on an aweseome experience!! :)

Try black mountain hunts next time they had a very challenging fun hunt. We had 9 people in the group and managed to get it done but it wasnt easy. I am going back again next year for sure.

    Yep, good place I hear.

Like I said in another thread, BowSafari doesn't have the best reputation.
