That's a very nice blind. Just need a comfy chair to take a nap while waiting for the deer jk.

Think I know exactly where I can put one of these. Looks like I have some building to do!

Fleet Farm. That was the most expensive part but it looks really nice, and is really easy to roll on.

Do you think the PVC will be able to hold up against snow and wind? It seems as if it could be crushed easy with a little bit of weight on it. Just curious.

I think it should hold up just fine because the wire fencing being wrapped so tight around it really made it sturdy. But I wouldn't be able to say for sure until after a season in the field. I would have used metal or aluminum but went with PVC for a cost thing and my dads a plummer and said that it would hold up just fine.

Could you post the list of materials needed, and sizes to make one of these. It looks like a fun project to do.

How long did you cut the pieces of PVC for the half circles?

Im not sure Dan. I just remember that the bale was 6 feet long and 6 feet high (Which is larger than most bales but i dont think the deer will mind)

Guy at work found a program online to figure how long wire fencing needed to be for size we wanted. We needed 14 feet long but the cattle panels we used were 16 so I just made it a bit bigger. I'm putting some 2x4 bracing in the ends to help it hold shape. I'll try to post some pics of mine when I get a chance. We're wrapping it in 4mil black plastic drop-cloth and leaving the ends with just straw matting to let it breathe. That should keep us dry enough

I live in the west, new mexico, so we have rectangular hay bales instead of round bales. I'm making a rectangular hay bale blind 6' x 6' x 7'10". Same concept, different geometric design. I'm using it jan. 1st 2014 on a mule deer hunt. i'll let you know if it works. I'm more worried about the shooter rather than the blind, LOL!!

That would work wonders out here, especially with all the farmers in my hunting area. My problem would be convincing them to let me keep it there and hunt it.
