I always keep fixed heads in my quiver as well as Rage...I was shooting the Slick Tricks standard 100 gr, but every one of them rattle like hell, I tighten them down but they are just not tight...I used to shoot muzzy, I have been thinking of the standard 3 blade 100 gr...your thoughts...I need something that flies as good as the Slicks...

Man, I don't know whats up with the rattling on the ST's, I've never had a problem unless the blades weren't pushed forward all the way before it's screwed in. The only thing that I've found that will fly as well as the ST's is a stinger.

Slick tricks. They don't rattle. You have done something wrong in assembling them. Awesome heads!!!!!!

Dubbs, everyone tells me that, but I have 2 packs that do it...I shoot the Axis arrows with the broadhead adapter ring and all, I even called them and they said they have never heard of it, but they rattle like hell for some reason...I want to shoot them cuz they fly so well, but I used to shoot Muzzy and I would like to hear about the Mx 3's

Send them back and have him replace them. I have shot ST since the 2003 bow season with nothing but good results.

Check out the NAP Nitron. It's a smaller fixed blade head like the ST that's 100% stainless steel and sharp as hell. Myself, duke, and Todd Graf have been shooting them for 3-4 years now with great results. They fly like field points and penetrate as well as any head I've ever shot.

I've shot hellrazors and wac'em exit broadheads. Both fine. Wac'em came incredibly sharp and not a half an inch difference shooting wise from my field points. Hellrazor's didn't shoot quite as well.

if you have 2 packs that do that, check your inserts. May be coming lose. remove the head and tap the arrow on a hard surface and see if you still have a ratte. I have never had a rattle from any broadhead. I have from a lose insert.

Never had such a problem. If they're not bottoming out, I can see where they would potentially come "loose" a bit, a quick fix if the problem is your arrows, not the BH's would be using a small nylon washer as a spacer, the nylon washer will compress, and should almost function as a "lock washer" helping the BH seat to the insert a little better as well. I've heard a couple other people have the same issue and this helped.

You could also put the BH's on a different style arrow and see if they "seat down" in a different style arrow, if not, I'd send them back, but I have a dozen of them and ALL of the ones I have seat down into the insert just fine.

If they are put together correctly, and still doing that, call the company and send them back. You do have the blade retainer ring installed don't you??? (Not trying to insult your intelligence, but I've seen a guy do that once....)

I'm shooting the same setup Axis 340, you don't need the broadhead adapter ring. The washer that comes with the heads yes, but not the additional ring. I'm not trying to insult either, I just know that I've had probably 20+ ST's and a dozen RazorTricks that didn't do it. Play with it a little more, if you have a little glue on the inside of your insert (which is easy to do with the HIT inserts) that can keep your head from getting screwed in tight...

P.S. - If you get rid of them, I got dibs :D
