Blind has been set up for awhile so I only touched door getting in which was directly behind me and any residue scent would have to pass through ozonics channel to get to her.

She was north going east to west. I entered direct to stand from west to east so there was no way any residue scent from my stand entry route would come into play either.

I always heard everything was bigger in Texas...did you fart, maybe the Ozonics isn't calibrated to handle a Texas fart.

I apologize, that was out of line...I just couldn't help it.

Seriously though, I never believed in the hype of the Ozonics anyway and I heard Lee Lakosky say one time that it would degrade certain materials if left in a close environment for too long.

Exactly!! I mean all the big name people use one so it had to work?????

I'm just kidding, use what works for you! That is crazy to spend $400 on some ozone thingy, just buy a smoker kit for 50 bucks and you're good to go!!

Folks, just accept it. You can not beat their nose. If you are in a tree unwind and they don't smell you, it wasn't the scent or gadget you were using. The scent trail just twisted or floated somewhere other than to their nose. It happens. Weather can make a difference as well. Anyone that owns hunting dogs will tell you some days they can't smell a bird or rabbit under their nose and other days they can smell them across at ditch at 50 yards.

We love hunting these animals because they are so challenging. Why would we want to take away their #1 defense even if we could?

Meanwhile back at the ranch, we're all spraying ourselves down in scent killers that don't work either.

Well, I haven't ever tried ozonics. Probably never will. However, I started using Scent Lok and HS Scent a way sprays in 1999. My success rate on bow killed deer skyrocketed in the next 5-7 years afterwards. It was probably just the fact that I was more conscious about my scent control regimen about the time I started to use those products. NO WAY those products contributed to helping me see and kill more deer. Its all just a bunch of false advertising hype anyway right?

Ill probably keep using it tho. My "lucky" scent lok suits and Dead Down products seem to work ok these days for some reason. 8 P&Y whitetails, 1 P&Y black Bear, 1 B&C black bear , 1 P&Y antelope and 4 P&Y mule deer later, im gonna stick with my "LUCKY" stuff. :)

Can only go with what works for YOU. Yesterday would have been a great proof for the Ozonics with the neat experience I had, too bad my camera mount set up wouldn't allow me to show the proof. I had a doe nursing a fawn straight downwind of me for over 20 mins(not nursing for 20 mins) . They were about 45 yds. It would have been great to show how the powder was drifting straight to them.....while my Ozonics was running. So far I've had 4 experiences in the last 2 seasons that tell me it works....in good scenting conditions, cool and optimum humidity. Also, many of the claims on this thread seem to be made by those who don't own one or have used them. I particularly like the one about "using a poisonous/dangerous "up in the tree with you. If you can smell it, it's not being used properly

I follow a very strict scent control regimen and have used Ozonics last season as well early the season. I have had a lot of encounters that have proven itself to me. Just a tool like washing clothes, putting in scent free bags, dressing outside of truck, spraying down, brushing teeth with baking soda, etc. I can not completely fool a whitetail's nose. I am just trying to make him think I am far enough away to not be a danger when I am 20 yards away. Since I starting getting serious about scent control and adding to my arsenal, I have started seeing more deer and a lot more mature bucks.

Just my experience that I thought I would share.

I agree 100%. I'll pass on it even though they may work on a vehicle or clothes. But to sit with it dumping on you is not for me

Ozone at certain levels can cause breathing problems, and I read somewhere doing research on the Ozonics that ozone could be a carcinogen. I use it about 12 hours some weeks when I actually get to hunt 3 times in a week. I am comfortable using it myself but others may not.

Wow....lots of mis-information on this thread....especially from those that don't own nor have used Ozonics. NEWSFLASH... If you are breathing/smelling it, you are not using it properly.

I'm still playing with one until I get more evidence with it. I simply like gadgets. I practice scent control for the walk in, and I hope the the ozonics helps while in the stand. I finally had a buck (a 2 year old) encounter the other night. Right before dark he fed out in a bean field. I watched him as he crossed my scent stream at 60 yards. He became alert, and knew he smelt something, but he never blew, or flagged. He just kind of nervously walked and fed out of the field. At one point being 32 yards from me. Had this been a buck I wanted to kill, the ozonics would have served it's purpose. Again like I said earlier, I won't give it an endorsement until I am able to see a mature buck react to it.

I can understand people not wanting to use it for health reasons, and I also completely understand the party that doesn't want to attempt to take away the animals #1 defense mechanism out of respect for hunt. Hell I hope to one day put down the compound and hunt solely old school with traditional equipment.

Two mature bucks coming in from down wind is what sold me on it last year. Not to mention several mature does.
