...was a train wreck! On a 30 target course I shot a dismal 149. I missed 5 targets entirely, only shot one 12 and 5 tens. Maximum range had me all messed up, it was 35 yds. and I only practice to 25. It was a very long course but no matter, I sucked. Even on shots 20 yds and in I shot poorly.
Oh well, lol, I only lost one arrow . I'll go back and do it again on the 17th after practicing at longer ranges for the next couple of weeks.

I just went to my first trad shoot as well. My score, not so good but I did have a great time and a lot of fun. Going to another this Sunday and I know just from my practice sessions I will do a lot better this time. :woot:

GOOD POINT! I forgot to mention how much fun I had! The 2 guys I shot with were shooting compounds and all three of us were laughing the whole way!

I know a quite of few traditional bowhunters who can't hit the side of a barn on a 3-d course but when It comes to hunting their much better with their shooting. Good times were at least had right?

TX, do not worry about it. Go back and compete again. I have never competed in any shooting events but I know from other sports that just going back to the basics really works when the nerves start to boil. Clean draw, clean anchor, clean release. I have respect for anyone that goes out there and tests their metal in front of others with nowhere to hide.

I feel your pain. I built a bow and took it down to Rowel's to shoot in and decided to do it on his three D course. I tried to shoot from the compound distances. It was not pretty.

Yeah the 3D is a different monster when it comes down to it! Shooting unknown distances on every shot, good practice I tell ya! Its pretty hard to concentrate when on the course when shooting wIth a bunch of buddies and a couple a beers! Lol!
