My dad has an amazing garden. He has been having a horrible time with rabbits and squirrels this year in it. So I bought some small game heads when I headed down last weekend. I was able to stalk up and get a 20 yard shot at this rabbit. This one won't be a problem anymore.
I will be taking shots at the local bunny population at my garden shortly. They are reeking havoc lately. Looks like tomatoes and cantaloupes are all I will be getting. Its my first garden since I was a kid and I am a little ticked that my stuff is getting ate up.
Rabbit season in MO starts Oct 1. Unless the ****ers are tearing up your garden then it don't matter! LMAO.
Same here I would be careful posting stuff like that if they are not legal there right now. But nice shot on that lil target. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh be very very quiet theres wabbits here ehehehehehheheheheh!
Fence or Spray There are other methods that work great to keep rabbits out of the garden, like liquid fence spray. You can buy it at Menards for 15 $ very easy to use or put up a small fence for a couple extra bucks.
Be careful of the internet police......... they like to steal your thunder. Nice shot, may your garden flourish!
I think you can shoot them, if you have proof they are tearing up your stuff. My grandpa's neighbor was doing that and someone turned him in. He showed the dnr the damage and he didnt get in trouble.
My dads garden has alot of rabbits and we don't shoot them. But when November 5th comes around its time to get the Gamo out! My first small game with my bow was a fox squirrel at 35 yards
Fences don't help with the squirrels though. The rabbits are a nuisance but the squirrels are what I was really going for. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get any of them. Anytime they see a person coming toward the garden, they turn and run. He has planted corn about 5 times and they will come in right after it is planted and dig up the corn seed and eat it. He loves watching them but he drew a line in the sand and they are way over it lol.
From my understanding, you cannot eat rabbits this time of year because of some worm or something. We just discarded him. I really don't feel that I need to justify killing a rabbit. When they are destroying your property I don't think that you need to. This particular rabbit, along with eating in the garden, destroyed one of my grandmother's flowers by eating and digging a nest in the pot that they were planted in. What was a beautiful flowering plant is now only half of a plant. Some people are trying to make a big deal of something that is not a big deal. I didn't just wake and decide to go rabbit hunting in my dad's yard. The killing was justified!
I'm not going to argue that. I may even have done it myself. But you need to use a higher level of intelligence before posting on a public forum.
