Between the four of us, we left the swamp this morning with 5 woodies and two mallards, one of which being my first and the other banded from Ontario, Canada. As we don't have many mallards on our side of the country, we left pretty happy. I think I'm going to mount him as he is so pretty and a first for me. Post some pics of your favorite duck mounts.

Great looking bird. Crazy to think you guys don't have many mallards there when that's about all we shoot later season around here.

Local guy here in MN. Does great work so it's a good place to check out for ideas. http://www.bktaxidermy.com/

He does have some nice mounts. I will keep a few in mind. I'm kind of leaning towards the mallard flushing away from me with his wings spread so I can see the feathers on both wings.

GREAT looking mallard Phil! Congrats on the banded bird too! You didn't happen to be hunting south Raleigh did ya? A couple duck hunters were hunting the swamp behind my house yesterday morning. I heard quite a few shots.

I hope they didn't kill them all...i'll be out after deer season!

By the way, look up Diane's Wildlife Taxidermy in Garner. She has been mounting birds for 30 years or more. A couple articles have been written on her, she's a great lady and a great artist! She has mounted my first woody and a buck for me. She also has mounted birds for the museum's in Raleigh if I remember correctly.

She's the best around in my opinion. I highly highly recommend her. Her price was $200 a bird when I was there 2 years ago. I heard last year she was the same as well. So I assume she's the same this year. Give her a call! You wont be disappointed.

Thanks man, but no, we were in Willow Springs. But it's funny that you mention her, she does all of my friends taxidermy. I'll check out her website and maybe give her a call tomorrow. Thanks
