Hey everyone, new to the forum but i have learned alot already! Anyway i finally pulled the plug and bought my first bow. Its a bear archery charge rth package and so far im very happy with it and im already obsessed! I did have one question tho, the package came with 3 arrows that are 400g and 8.2 gpi. I was wondering if these are too stiff for my 60 lb dw and 27in dl? Thanks guys

It is more on what you like than if it is the right stuff or not! If you shoot well with them then that is cool. As you go along the long road of learning and trying different things you will find what works best for you. Good luck and hope you kill and kill early!

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the addicting world of bow hunting and archery. Warning: It only gets worse!! The more you learn the more you desire!!!
As far as the arrows go, thats what I shoot. My bow is set at 65lbs and 28" length. They do great for me but, when I up my lb I will move to a stiffer spine.

Cayote Those arrows should be fine as i shot a 431grain arrow at 29" with a 9.7 gpi out of a Bear strike at 62 pounds. As you get more into the sport and tuning your rig you will learn what spine to look for when you go to buy new arrows. if you have any more questions just post a thread on here and i am sure some one will be more than happy to assist you in your choice. Welcome to the site and the sport. The wealth of knowledge you will find here is mind boggling at times

Very nice first bow. As far as the weight of the arrows go, they should work good for hunting. I would however suggest you get 6 more arrows.

Yeah - get 6 arrows identical to what you have already. What distance are you shooting at? What are your patterns looking like?

Thanks for the advice guys! Im shooting mostly at 20 yards so far but practice a little bit at 30 and 40 too. My groups arent what i want them to be, the smallest one about 8 inches. So thats why i was wondering about the arrows. But im also aware that it could be 100% my fault too just not shooting consistantly enough. Ive heard a different rest and sight could help too, but im not sure. Any advice or info is greatly appreciated!

Congratulations, welcome to one of the most rewarding addictions around. I would suggest you look into the proper way to grip a bow. There are a lot of things that you will have to master as you work more and more with your bow. Grip, form, anchor point, release and follow through are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. However, you'll just be getting your body used to shooting your bow for the first couple of weeks. Good luck to you!

Are all the arrows hitting the target at the same angle?

BigStick is right on. I know that concentrating on follow through was one of the things that helped me the most.

Welcome to the site by the way :tu:
