ok my first time bowhunting,i have never seen or shot a deer while hunting until this sat. i was in a groundblind.wind in my face. my first deer walks in. a buck! with 5 inch antlers,a yearling buck. 20 yard broadside shot. hit the deer good. no blood not even a drop, the blades dident open! found arrow 30 yards away with blood 7 inches up the arrow and the o ring missing. this broad head cost me my first deer! I went and got some muzzy fixed blade mx-3s 100 grain. lets see how they do.

Rage just jumped out of my quiver and cut a squirrel in half.

    Best UFC match ever

    Rage vs Rage
Deployment is not an option it's about survival

First off, I am new to the forum. My name is Kyle Thomas and I am in Louisiana. Like many of you, I am an exclusive bowhunter and have been for years. Currently I am using an Air Raid at 70# with a 27.5 inch draw with Gold Tip arrows and a two-blade 100 grain Rage. I have not lost a single deer, but some of the blood trails have been less than stellar. They were good shots, but both bad blood trails were quartering away and exited through the off shoulder. With any broadhead, it is usually placement. Two of the deer I have shot with the Rage did not go 25 yards! I have had good and bad trails with every broadhead. Stay with it and find a broadhead you like.

I have had the same issue. I really think it's because of the shape of the cutso if it looks like this / or this \ less blood flows out. but one that I hit dbl lung and heart with with a cut like this -- looked like a horror movie. I like the rage but the trails worry me so I am going to try the meat seeker 3 balde 2" diam. cut. But with the rage none of my deer ran over 25 to 30 yards all went down hard within site. (but you never know so it worries me )
