:D I almost forgot to tell y'all. I posted that thread about my lease being clear cut a couple of weeks back. Our lease manager told us, " They're cutting it all, I asked the loggers and they said they are cutting everything". Well when I went out there over the weekend of the 13th-14th, two other lease members and myself stopped and talked to the loggers ourselves. Turns out the manager should have asked how many acres were being cut. They were cutting "all" of 233 acres. Yep, "everything" was being cut, on 233 acres. So, the sky is not falling after all. We informed the lease manager and he was very relieved. As an added plus, the stand I had at a creek crossing is now in a narrow corridor of trees left in a "SMZ" or stream managment zone. It is now a pefect funnel between two thick stands of timber. The strip is about 40 yds wide and 200 yds long. I know it will be a travel corridor. I spotted a nice buck in there 3 times last year without ever having a good shot. I think it just got better. I will have to go in there and see what kind of changes the wind will be making now that the landscape has changed.
It took me a second to figure out what the heck you were talking about with Chicken Little, then I saw the "sky is falling" reference. LOL Good news. It sounds like disaster just turned to opportunity.
