Thanks for the suggestion, I just got whatever the electrician friend said we needed. We had to get a building permit before we started, and it will be inspected once we finish. Who knows when that will be

The shed is way too good for what I will use it for right now lol. It started out as a 12'x12' shed, then expanded out as my boss talked us into bigger and better things.

You will thank your boss later on. I know you are going to have fun filling it up with meat. Again, good job.

Very nice! I would love something like that someday.

One small suggestion. If the rafters will be supporting much of the weight from the loft, you might want to put a plate across several of the rafters to spread the load rather than just tieing into individual rafters.

    Enjoy!

Vito- I process 6 or 7 of my own a year, and I process all my friends deer as well. Usually ends up around 15 -20.

Fletch- The loft actually ties into every stud of the building, as well as the supports going to the rafters. The rafters are only supporting the the inside edges of the loft, so there is not much weight. You can't really tell that from the pictures since I already have the walls sheeted.

Thanks for the tips guys, if anyone has any more feel free to let me know :tu:

I am actually planning to have a full size refrigerator in the South room, as well as a mini fridge turned into a kegerator with an antler tap handle

That is sick!!! (In a good way, of course) I love it. I am going to be making a shed in the spring, you have me inspired to upgrade a bit. Great job.

You won't regret it. Now that our shed is this far, we were just talking about we wish we would have made it even bigger

OK, I feel just dumb. Here's my set up. Only ever butchered one deer, a small doe that broke it's neck last January. Got the job done but wasn't pretty.

Ghetto but got the job done. I plan on doing more.

at $55/doe it would take a LOT of deer for me to pay this off vs paying a butcher to not mess with it. lol

Amazing setup for the purpose though, you must be one who enjoys that aspect of hunting a lot!

Yeah, I will be getting a large dehydrator in the future. I already have two meat slicers, and I will be getting a grinder, mixer, stuffer, etc.

Its been a while since I updated this thread... The shed is now painted, and has OSB up on all the inside walls. The work bench/bar in the nicer side of the shed is now finished, and I am in the process of building shelves for certain bottles of adult beverages.

I just finished grouting the bar this afternoon

I boxed in the underside of the loft yesterday

And here is a shot of my hoist system
