Sweet, our ice has been piss poor all winter.

Nice mess of crappie for sure. Southern Indiana usually doesn't get ice that is good enough to fish.

Cool pics Steve. We usually don't get enough ice down here to ice fish. :(

Hah......I have guys stalking me on FB looking for my pike spots, so I don't usually share a lot there.

We spent three days and two nights out there and caught about 25 walleyes and 15 perch this weekend in the tournament between 3 guys. Threw most of them back but did keep a couple for the frying pan. No pike unfortunately. We soaked 10 giant suckers all day Fri, Sat, and yesterday but just didn't get the sun I'd like to see for a good pike bite. Usually that tournament requires a 45-50"+ pike to win, and the biggest measured out of roughly 1,000 guys was only 38", so no one was really having a great pike bite. Maybe next year.

A pic of the keepers in our homemade "livewell". We had about 24" of ice, we drill a bunch of touching holes down only leaving about 4" on the bottom and then poke a small hole in the bottom with a spud. Fills up with fresh water and usually keeps them alive for days, but it nearly froze them all it was so cold this weekend. Every one of those perch is 13"-15" and the walleyes aren't anything special.......16"-19", just good eating size. We did catch some bigger ones but nothing worth $$$ in the contest so we threw them back to spawn.

And a picture of our pike bait.........normally I like to get stuff a bit bigger but this was the best I could come up with on short notice. To give you an idea, this is one of those giant 120 quart coolers. Throw them in there with a plug in bubbler and you can keep them alive for months.

I don't know why, but all I could think of when I saw the thread title was ice skating. I like ice fishing much better myself. lol

Looks like a good time. The set up looks like a place I could spend a day. Congrats to you and your daughter on the fine catches.
