Wow first off let me say what a trip! I left Thursday night after my class and came to Erick Oklahoma. Colby (my friend) and I arrived there at his uncle's at 12 am and hit the hay. We woke up on Friday morning at 5 and it was raining and has been since 3 am. So we went to their lake cabin and helped fix a starter as the day was a bust. That night we went to Colby's cousins football game and after that we headed to Colorado to go pheasant hunting. It was sudden but we took off. All four of us Colby Colby's uncle and cousin and myself. We left Friday night around 11 and made one stop in perryton Oklahoma way up in the panhandle right below liberal to buy shells. We bought our license online so we were covered and they had so many birds this year that they were $16!!!! We met people upthere that they knew already from antelope hunting so it was free. We arrived at pheasant camp at 430 that morning. They were up already and cooked us breakfast. Eggs Bacon and toast all you could eat and boy was it delicious. We went to bed for about 45 minutes and got up got dressed and headed to the field. It was opening day and we were anxious as none of us has ever seen a wild pheasant. We took off through a corn field that has been harvested all 12 of us in a line walking with bird dogs working in front of us. The morning was cold, 21 to be exact but the wind chill was 16, burrrrrrr. It was so cold. Well the first field was a bust but we killed two birds for all twelve of us. We left that field and and went to what they called the half circle field. We step in the field and birds fly. Out of all twelve all but two got their limit. But they got it later in the day. We go in for lunch and we decide to go ahead and come back to Erick to deer hunt. We get our stuff together and hop in the ride and get outta there thanking our guides/new friends that told us we can come antelope hunt with them whenever just give them a holler. We leave around 3 and got back to Erick at around 830. We unload and and go in to eat a snack real quick as were about to have as much fun as can (or I think so). We eat and grab the night vision goggles and the 308 with a laser and mini 14 with a laser. We head out driving through all their land they have and have leased (78,000acres). We spot some hogs through the night vision about 1/2 mile away in a wheat pasture. We grab the guns and take off walking. We get about 100 yards and there are 3 big pigs in the group so we kneel and pick which ones we want. We decide and get up to them about 30 yards when I hear us. They get curious and come to about 20 yards when we.turn on the lasers and unload. We killed all three of the pigs we picked out as our clips were empty. We were super tired and head back to Tyler's house to crash. Well Sunday morning I slept in til lunch because of the lack of sleep and boy was it good. We met with Colby's dad Charlie Saturday evening and he put me in a tree stand on two feeders. I videoed a spike a fawn and the biggest pigs I've ever seen in my life in this stand and never released a arrow. That night we went to the breaks which is south of texola and is a bunch of canyons to their home place to eat at a deer camp down there. After eating we went to town to get corn. We went to a place north of texola a couple miles and went on a two mile stretch and.slowly poured the corn out off of the back of.the Truck. I went to bed last night and woke up at 530 this morning when I woke everyone else up and they said no were fine u can go. So I decided to go ahead n go instead of sleeping in again. This was the coolest day of my life. I started waking and ended up seeing 20 bucks 1 being a shooter and and the other 19 being next year shooters. I saw well over 100 Turkey and a ton of doe. It was a great experience and I get to do it again in December!!!!! Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
