Well, yesterday my buddy Matt brought over the rack off the buck he shot on PA's rifle opener and we were anxious to put a tape to it to see how it would score. He was guessing that the buck would gross score in the low 150's but I was sure it was going to break the 160" mark for gross. Inside Spread... 20-3/8" Greatest Spread... 24-0/8" Right Left MB... 27-0/8" 27-3/8" G1... 5-0/8" 4-6/8" G2... 11-6/8" 10-2/8" G3... 7-0/8" 9-2/8" H1... 4-7/8" 5-0/8" H2... 4-6/8" 4-5/8" H3... 5-2/8" 5-2/8" H4... 4-0/8" 4-3/8" Totals... Right= 69-5/8" Left= 70-6/8" Gross Score... 160-7/8" Net Score... 155-7/8" He plans on having it officially scored, so it will be interesting to see what the differance is. We played on the safe side with the scores so it has to be very close to the numbers above. On a sidenote, this buck has created a lot of attention for him. He originally e-mailed the story and pics to about 30 people, and I guess those e-mails spread and he has recieved hundreds of e-mails from people who he has met through work and "friends of friends". The local newspaper found out about the deer and wants a detailed story of the hunt, a breakdown of the score sheet, and color photos to run an article about it, and he has recieved e-mails from a company asking if he would be interesting in them making a mold of the rack so they can make reproductions of the antlers and he would get a part of the money for each rack sold... he polielty turned the offer down stating that he killed the buck from himself, not for others.
I said it before. That's probably the coolest deer I've ever seen. That's a new "gold standard" 8 pt.. Congrats, again, to your friend.
Agreed, Jeff. That is the best looking 8 I probably have ever seen. I love how his rack just comes out and lays down. I would be interested in what the measurement on the small of the neck was. His neck looks huge.

Donnie. That's from a bullet...his first shot hit the top of the leg and that was his follow up shot.
That is a bomber of an 8. Congrats to him again. Just when I thought I'd seen the biggest 8 ever earlier this season(154") this one comes along and tops it!
There was a 170 something inch at the taxidermist last year when I took my buck in Your buddy shot himself a huge buck, congrats to him. I would love to have that deer on my wall
