So now its time for my own success story! Let me preface by saying I have been bow hunting for the past 3 or 4 years, just recently getting extremely ADDICTED. I shot my first buck early in the season (september 25th to be exact), so I redirected my hunting efforts to getting my friends and family's hunts captured on video. I had a great time hunting alongside some good friends, and also, my little brother in his first season behind the stick and string. Well, my brother and I have been hunting hard, and he has been passing many small deer (nubbys and does), just waiting for a buck. Bear in mind, he has never shot a buck before! So, saturday, the weather man calls for rain, a little discouraging, but we decide to get up and stick it out anyway. To our surprise it wasn't raining to hard so we get going, set up, and into our stand. I decided to set up a decoy this morning and try and get the horned fellas to come to us. Well, we saw a few deer, not worth shooting, and then, around 730 by brother spots a deer coming from our right out of some thick cover. As he approaches he tells me, BUCK, BUCK! So I get the camera rolling... But you know as well as I, its better to just watch it, so here you go! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhCHcV2ufQA&feature=youtu.be
way to stick in there and recover the deer. im suprised he made it that far becausr he was losing alot of blood. in the video it kinda looked like you got him low on the neck. where did you hit him and how far did he make it before he expired?
Congrats - I can feel the excitement watching the video. Thanks for sharing. That deer was alert coming in.
Thanks guys! It was a low neck shot, definitely not where you aim but we gave him time to expire. The blood trail was great and he made it maybe 160 yards.
