TeeJay, congratulations to your kids, and to you for raising some tough boys. Wrestling is one of the toughest if not the toughest physical sport out there. I wish I would have wrestled in high school. The coach kept asking me to wrestle at 189 because I walked around at 195-200, but I loved track and field so I did not give it a go. Years later after college I got into wrestling and all I can say is wow, I had to get into the best shape of my life just to be able to compete. GOOD luck to your boys!
Good luck to your son! Sounds like your boy is improving every year. I've been around a number of people that didnt peak until a couple years into college, all depends on what kind of program you're coming from. Wrestling will give your son a sense of confidence that he'll never lose. I wrestled from the age of 5 up into college. I still miss it today.
Well he stumbled a bit today. Got beat first match 11-6 just came out to sluggish. Was down 9-0 going into the third. If he would have wrestled first two like the.third sam would have been ok. BTW the team won 39-30 now into the finals. Sam has the #2 kid in Mn wrestles a super smart tough match but comes up short.4-1 team loses 42-21 for a crack at the state tourney. individual sections next weekend.
Seeing are out. The boy gets the 4th seed. I guess I feel he should have got the 3rd seed bit oh well. Down to 12 kids and the top 2 go on to the state tourney. Sams first opponent he beat 12-3 a few weeks ago he wins that one and then gets another crack at the #2 kid again. Go get em boy, and leave it all out on the mat.
Sam wins in ot 3-1 now onto #2 kid the winner advances to finals and more than likely state tourney. Wish him luck.
Drats he lost 9-5 tough match. He wrestled tough. Hopefully varies it into tomorrow and comes through the wrestlebacks. Still a shot.
Woo hoo wins his first 7-2 and his second 3-0 for 3rd place. Gets a true second match the winner goes to state the looser goes home. Sambo you the man, its your day!
Thanks Tim ill let him know. A great year but just came up a bit short. What a loaded section tourney. #2,5,10 kids in the state. Sam gave it all he had. He ended the season 29-14 with 17 pins.
