Hey all. Officially back at school and eagerly waiting for October 1! Went out to check my piece of public land to see if the farmer that is leasing rotated to corn. Low and behold he planted nothing! Normally there'd be a large group of 6-10 does that'd cross the entire property to get to that field. I have plans to hunt almost a mile off the field closer to a creek. On the other side of the creek there is a large bean field. Last season I found a lot more buck beds and scrapes their and have seen several 1-2 year old bucks. I hunted the area all the way until January and culled 1 doe. I believe all the bucks I spotted survived the season and I am praying they have some more mass this year. Hopefully if it is like last year (knock on wood)I will have this piece of land to myself and harvest a decent size buck. At the end of the season I spotted a wide 10 point on one of my cams. The area opens in a few days so I plan to have my stand out and cameras set around the 2nd week of September. Gonna be a great season!!
