I am shooting a PSE Stinger and every time I draw my bow back it makes a loud popping noise right when I almost reach full draw. Does anyone know what could be making this noise? It sounds like it is coming from the cams. Do they require oiling? If so what type of oil would be the best to use?

I'd be curious to know what this is as well. I shoot a Diamond Razor and every once in awhile, right when I release, it "pops" or "snaps". The shot comes off just fine, but the noise is definately there. The only thing we could think of was the peep tubing was getting caught on the vibration dampner as I pulled back and then popping upon release....but both are rubber and flexible, so I don't think that is truly what is causing it. everything else on my bow looks lined up correctly, etc....

Check the mod screws, make sure they are tight.

Mod screws? I am not sure which screws you are talking about.

Basically check all the screws on the cams to be tight. Just as an added precaution; I'd check my limbs for cracks as well.

Gun--take a look at this pic. I put a red circle around this part. My bow used to do the same thing. Right before full draw, as the cam drop over, that little plastic piece that separates your bow limb and string "snaps" and makes a sound. Specifically look at that piece. I found this out by actually spitting on that plastic piece and moving it around. I then redrew my bow and it did not make any more sounds. It was like the plastic piece had aligned at an angle that produced that popping sound. Once I adjusted it I was good. Try it out to see if that is the problem. Good luck.

I tried to move the plastic piece around and it seemed to help some but it did not stop the sound. I am going to take it up to my local bow shop and see what they have to say about it. Thanks for the help everyone.

I took my bow to the shop and they looked it over and they changed out my limbs to give it a try and when they changed them out the noise stopped. My top limb must have a very small crack that we cant find.

VS picture is the place to check. The little washer or part where the string loops over i bet has a burr in it. I had the exact same issue this year. When I took one of and felt the inside it had a few burrs in it. Flipped it around and issue solved.

Make sure the split in that plastic bushing is facing DOWN. It could cause it to shoot off, or tear at the cable. As other's have said, check all of your screws. Common thing on PSE's also is wax build-up on your cam/idle wheel, check the tracks.
