It happens right as I drop into the valley and reach full draw. It's a metallic clicking sound. I think it's coming from the module but I can't see how or where. The back wall is provided by a large flat spot on the mod. There is no other limb or string posts for the string or limb to touch and make a sound. All screws are tight and I can't find anything loose to make the noise. I can fix it temporarily by simply removing the mod and putting it back on. Then the sound is gone for approximately 60-80 shots. Then it returns. It's getting frustrating. I recently got a new draw mod and a new set of strings shortly before this problem showed up. Could this have something to do with it? I have a Jennings Reliant. Single cam. 34 ATA. 8" Brace. My tech checked all specs when he installed the strings for me a couple weeks ago. Please help...
Can you tighten the mod screws when the noise comes back? If so might want to try some removable loc-tite or nail polish. Also check to make sure you're not getting contact with mod and limbs. Just a guess without seeing.
The screws always stay tight. That was the first thing I checked when the trouble started. I can't say for sure on any possible limb contact because I can't see it while drawing. I'll have someone watch for me.
I think I solved my own problem. I put my 29" mod back on and the tick went away. On top of that, the shot got quieter and has less vibration. I didn't even realize it was there until it was gone. I must have gotten a bad 30" mod. Machining was slightly off or something.
I had a similar issue last year...turns out my entire cam was slightly bent! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I had a bow tech recommend that I coat both the screws that hold the mod as well as the back side of the mod itself with bowstring wax. He said that sometimes tollerances aren't quite as good as they should be or sometimes things get worn. He said the wax would help parts seat together. I'm mainly posting this in case someone elase has a similar problem and finds this thread via a Google search. I'll update with any progress after I've had a chance to try this remedy.
