Well, gentleman here he is... my best buck to date!!! First let me apologize for the lousy trophy pics however after 3 hours of recovering this bruiser out of 4 feet of water and rough terrain I was pooped. Last night was the first time I had laid eyes on this buck however, he was well known. Best of all I got to share the entire experience with my father who is back to hunting again. Any who it was one heck of a night!!!!! So I'll be headed to the taxidermist this morning. lol So, let's here the guesses fellas.... SCORE?????
What a deer! Drag him back into the woods for some pictures, youll only kill that deer once! I would guess his score is 185?
I was trying to count points? What about 16-18 I am guessing? I would guess a score over 175, maybe mid 180's? HUGE!!!
HOLY of all that is great. That is an absolute beastly like buck. I can only imagion that you'r soul left your body as soon as you laid your eyes on him and even more so whe you released that arrow. Can you provide us with a story in more detail? Geez congratulations on that buck of a life time.
Per your reques selfbros, the story goes like this.... My Dad had just gotten us permission on a new piece of land that was right down the road from my house. So for the last few nights I had been glassing the field and each night at the same time there was a nice 8pt nosin does on one end of the field. The 8 was 130ish and appeared to have a broken right front leg. We had no stands set yet but we decided to go sit in the tall grass on the edges of the pocket, one on each side to see if we could take out the 8pt. Well the does came out to feed right on cue followed by a small 6pt, but the 8pt seemed to be running late. Then I hear something to my right, look over and see a massive antler through the trees. The buck was skirting the field and was already at 40 yds and coming quick. I immediatly came to full draw and waited for the buck to clear the brush. Now at only 20 yds starin me in the hairy eyeball was the beast of my dreams (and sometimes nightmares). I made a quick mouth grunt and let er fly. My G5 found its mark and the buck ran a couple circles then blasted back into the woods. We ran back to my house for a bit and got ready to go recover him. It didn't take long to find a great bloodtrail. We zig zagged through the woods for about 200 yds and lost blood. We were right on the edge of a steep embankment that had a deep creek at the bottom. My Dad then says maybe he's in the creek I then took a quick look over the edge and found blood smeared over the edge. The buck had died and toppled over the edge, and there he was in 4 ft of water. It took us almost 3 hours to get the buck out and back to the field edge. Then it was all hugs and hoorays and frankly almost tears as we finally got to take a moment to cherish what had happened and the magnificent animal at our feet. I owe the entire hunt and the buck of a lifetime to my Dad!!! THANKS DAD!!!!
