I'm betting your arrows aren't 340gr. Your probably misreading the spine label on the arrow. My guess is that your probably in the 410gr. range which is just fine for your bow.

Now it doesn't SEEM weird that nobody had a suggestion for your BEMAN DEER hunter arrows.:D

340 identifies the spine of the arrow.

How long are your arrows? Let's say they are 30". Take 9.3 x 30" will get your basic arrow weight. Then add weight for flectchings, tip weights, nock weight, wraps, etc. That is how you get your total arrow weight.

Measure your arrow. multiply it by 9.3. add 100 grains for your tip and roughly 50 to 55 for vanes, insert, etc. That's roughly what your arrow weighs.

    340 IS the spine.

I think he was referring to your spelling of the word "deer." ;)

We're pretty picky about spelling errors 'round here.

Ben, IMO, that is a great DEER killing weight. When I build my arrows, I usually aim for 430. Good luck this year.

very good deer arrow weight. just practice enough and practice doesn't make perfect PERFECT practice makes perfect. like you stance, form, etc. if you start to get tired or lose concentration. that would be a good time to stop for a awhile.

    And Good Luck i

You see that's not PERFECT PRACTICE, if you feel yourself getting tired then stop and pick up another day. When tired you slip into bad habits which reinforces bad form. It's better to shoot 10 perfect shots 3 days a week then to shoot 30 imperfect shots once a week.
