My bad luck has to end eventually. I hunted the day before, was working the day of and hunted the day after. Pulled the card yesterday and saw that this nice, new young buck came in for a snack while I was at work and unable to be in the tree. At first, I thought it was a buck that I call Granddaddy - remarkably the same and the only things that I could see that told me he was different was body size and the brow tines.

A few night pictures so you can see him better

This is the buck that I first confused him for but definitely some/most of the same genetics:

Hey man at least your getting day light pictures of him!! That's promising! Great looking buck too, keep at him, you'll get him!

I've had that happen to me a few times, but not with as nice of a buck. I actually think everyone who has a trail camera out in front of their stand has had that happen to them. If you were in the stand, the wind could have been bad and he would have never come in, so it's really hard to say that if you were there then that deer would have been there too. Like someone else said, at least you know he's coming in in daylight hours. Keep at him and you'll get him!

He's definitely using that area day and night so odds are you will see him soon while hunting.
