Well, I guess it's that time of year. Archery season is a scant 45 days away for me, and I saw a couple small bucks in the beans this evening. And besides that, buckeye threatened to ball kick me if I didn't start a thread, so here is my annual "What are your goals for this year" ....

Mine are pretty much the same this year, except that I really want my son to shoot his first bow kill this year.....My best hunting buddy needs a buck, and a young friend of mine at the shop needs his first as well.

For myself.....I've had several people ask me for deer this year, so I'm goin on my doe killing rampage. I want to shoot 6 does, and another buck. Pretty much the same goal as last year, a nice 8 point or better. He doesn't necessarily have to be bigger than last, but I'll shoot him if he is.

So, what say ye? What do you want to accomplish this year, as far as kills are concerned?

To shoot a buck so big that I won't know what to do.... And in the heat of the "hero shots"... Sit down indian style and gaze into his big fat gnarly rack in a trance like zone for photos oblivious and not caring about how big of a donny wannabe and complete and total tool bag I look like.

-A doe and at least a decent legal 2yr old buck in PA with my recurve or longbow. I'm not picky.:deer:

    and then:

-A buck in Illinois who doesn't know he's being watched named "Left Turn".
I hope my taxidermist can explain the name choice to him. :d

I guess with my screename comes that damn monkey on my back.:bash: My goal for this year, like it has been the past few is to shoot a respectable buck (i.e. 80" or better will do).

Don, did you shoot that bad boy last year before or after you changed your screename?

Dang buckeye maybe I would have been better off if someone did steal my username...I think it might be cursed. :d

My goals for this year are to secure the new house and property I am currently after as fast as possible. Tomorrow I go visit the neighbors who own the landlocked 160 acres my 5 will share a line with. If all goes well I will have all that outside my back door and another 200 of private farms within 5 minutes.........and my wife gets a nice house to go with it  We shall see.

I have no hunting goals for myself this year other then to hunt as much as I can and have fun with family and friends. What I would like to see is dad get another nice buck with his gun.........it's been awhile.

Tony........let's just face the cold hard facts.......NYSDEC is a joke.

You will see an early ML season before archery goes to 10-1 (just a prediction) That will screw the state up even worse then it is now so it must be near the top of their "to do" list. :bash:

Matt, I killed my buck before I requisitioned my name change. Keep with it brother, you'll make it happen. Hunt smart and you'll be there.

The goal is to tag 3 good Bucks in 3 states this year, have drawn on quite a few the last couple seasons but not droped a string on anything. So in reality I will be tickled to get one good one, I will have more time on my DIY out of state hunts this year. But the big goal is to just have a good time hunting with family this season.

My goals are going to be tough to accomplish but thats usually the way I go about my bow hunting. I would like to double up this year on P&Y animals. One P&Y bear and one P&Y buck. Its a long shot but what the heck, should be challenging!!;)
