This story is a couple years in the making. I had seen this buck last year on 3 occasions—on one of those I managed to miss him at 32 yards with my bow. This year I had 4 encounters with him the last being 12/21/17 at noon. I wouldn’t have been hunting him that late in the season if it weren’t for some info I gleaned from my brother during an early Christmas get together. He mentioned that he had seen the buck at lunch time when he was coming out of the woods on the 17th. I could stop thinking that where he saw this buck was also where I had seen him twice. I was sitting at work on the 21st and decided I had to try this buck one more time. So I took a half day of vacation and headed to the house to get my gear. The wind was perfect for me to sit on the uphill side of the trail that we had seen him travel. I took a camp stool with me and just setup between two big black oaks. To my surprise not 5 minutes after settling in he comes walking down the trail. When he was at 50 yards I let my ole TC roar. This is the finished Euro mount I did of him. My first attempt at a DIY euro.
