I am all about the way he is is the way he goes on the wall. All of my bucks except this years have been beat up with broken tines. I will not get the tines put back to normal. That is the way he is when I kill him then that is the way he goes on the wall. I WOULD LEAVE THE BLUE EYE IN!

Also, you need a new watch! Preferably an Oakland Raiders one!

Great buck and a great story. I would probably stick with the blue eye. It looks funky but so did he when he was shot. It’s part of his character.

Congrats again! I would do the blue eye if possible. There is more than antlers to a trophy that is worth the taxidermy bill.

I think the blind eye would be great on the mount ... What a great story, and CONGRATS on a beautiful buck

I'd definitely go with the blue eye. Every time you tell that story, you're going to mention his odd eye anyways and then people are going to wonder why he has normal eyes on the mount.

Honor the animal exactly how he is.

I'd get him mounted just as he is. You have a story that goes with the deer - why change something because it's not "normal". I'm sure there is a way to get an eye made like that.

Congrats on the hunt and a beautiful buck.

Does everyone on here who is saying "just mount him the way he is" understand that a set of fake eyes is used when mounting a deer and not the actual eyes of the deer? I guess my advise would be to just do whatever you think would make you happiest regarding the look of the mount.

If it were mine, I'd go with two normal eyes. I can see the argument for the blind eye and that's fine, just I wouldn't like it in one of my mounts, looks too creepy to me and I enjoy looking at the mounts on the wall. Would make for a good conversation though if you're okay with the cringy look.

    I would hopes so

Doesn't look like you can buy one, everything I have seen you either have to paint a standard eye to get the look you want or make a mold and pour an acrylic one in blue.

I'll talk with the taxidermist and see what his thoughts are, its not something I want to pay a lot of extra to get.
