Here is the buck I harvested on October 29th in Wisconsin with a bow. Exactly 200lbs field dressed. 10 points, with a broken left G4. 19 4/8" wide, with a gross green score of 172 0/8". The broken tine was missing about 5-6". G2's are 12", and G3's are 11" each. Shot was 10-12 yards slightly quartering away with an approx. 80 yard recovery. The buck came in after some light rattling. Here is a trail cam picture from August in velvet, and I have his sheds from 2009. He was aged at 4.5 yrs old. archery20, Enjoy
Great, great buck !! For a clean 5x5 closing in on 180 before he broke his G4 off is pretty awesome no matter where you hunt. Congrats !!! Tim
Yeah right! I mean its not all about score to me, but he is my highest gross scoring deer by about 16". But if you really get to thinking about it, had he not broken off the left G4, and it matched the right side. The deduction for the broken tine would have been 5 4/8 for just that tine. Add that back in and you are now at 177 5/8" Gross B&C. Add to that the fact that this deer otherwise has only 1 4/8" in symmetry deductions, you are looking at a Net B&C score of 176"!! Incredible to really process in my mind. I am blown away with having the chance to harvest this great animal. It's hard to believe that the one broken tine will likely lower the net score to around 165"-166". I will still be telling everyone that harvested a Boone & Crockett, regardless of the net score. After all, my true goal is to harvest one deer per year for the rest of my hunting years, and so far I have done that for 21 years straight and counting! Thanks for all the congrats guys! archeyr20
