    My 2010 destroyer 350 30/70

I have been shooting this for a week now and it some kind of awesome. I am very happy with it. 30/70 draw, with a nap sizzor rest and shooting flatline 340 arrows w/ 2'' vanetec vanes, Weighing 360 grains shot out of the box with no tuning shot 338 fps
After a some work i got the same arrow with a fully loaded string, loop, peep and nock up to 344

went back to the shop and got a flatline 400 arrow weighing in at 350 grains and shot a couple times to see how hot this thing is best of three was 353 and lowest was 348 now that is smoking fast.

now the bows birth cert says tested at 29/73 with 350 grain arrow @ 349 fps so i am very happy.

So in short to find a bow that hit's the mark like this is very good in todays market, shoots unreal groups and has such a solid back wall and perfect valley all i can say is get out and try this bow.:D Yes i am now a officially a
    FANBOY.

hmmm witch bow to shoot today?

bow is 30/70 and i am shooting a 28'' arrow.

so ibo arrow is 350 grains and with a loaded string that would bring it done a little more.
I tuned the bow with the 340's thru paper and only shot the 400 thru the crono a few times to get a feel of what the bow can do.

I can tell you at 30 yards you better be shooting a four spot target cause you are going to be replacing vanes and shafts so i think the spline is very close on the 340's and this is the arrow i plan to hunt with for now,I have only heard good things about the flatline arrows.and i have never seen or heard of one blowing up.

I am using the flatline 400's right now in my setup and i love the arrows!! they fly great and haven't had any problems with them. I am currently trying to get rid of my admiral and get a detroyer. I shot one this last weekend and loved it. How do you compare that up to the Z7 you got there?

Those aren't bad stats for a starter bow. ;)

Thanks guys, First let me say this is what i have found out about this bow for me (me) everyone is different and to each his on style and comfort something just fit better for each of us. so this is not a bash or a bell ringing... for a certian brand ..........But:hail::hail:

believe me if the bow wasn't a better fit for me and shoots a lot better groups then the z7 at alot faster speeds i would not of shelled out the extra beans after the money i put in the z7 thats for sure.

The longer ata on the destroyer fits me a lot better and shoots much better groups at 40/50/60 yards, the bow grip has better angle and far less hand torque issues , love the solid back wall that the cams have. I shot a ton of bows this year and this bow rocks :D really just point and shoot it, so forgiving and the pin settles so easy on the target

I was very impressed that a bow came so close to it's ibo rating with a loaded string and a arrow w/vanes in a 340 spline even for a starter bow, next year i going for the pro model with gas string assist porting mods:woot:

The sizzor rest seems great so far, alot of guys at the pro shop i go to shoot it, past that i cant find much info on it.
and it gets out of the way fast for max vane clearance and is easy to set and cock, the arrow isint going anywhere once it's loaded so it has all the things i look for in a hunting rest. I will update in a few weeks after i can get a few hundred more arrows thru it.

Ok the real problem is my new yellow jacket bag target will not stop this bow after a few shots in the same place the arrow sink up to the vanes on the back side of the bag ... try and get a arrow out of that. I had to put my old bag target on the backside of the new yellow jacket target to stop this bow.

Ok the z7 still is a great bow and i am going to keep it,but in a few words
on the draw the bows pressure is on the lower part of my palm thru the whole draw cycle, wich i dont like,
and yes the draw curve is smooth but the bow suffers from hand torque at the shot, being a short ATA bow you need a very clean form (at least for me with a 30'' draw) shooting at the longer distances. I have ordered a new grip for it and will keep working on my form
I think i maxed out the speed 307fps with the flatline 340 arrow @ 360 grain
    at my 30/70 draw
Ibo rating is 332 on the z7
I run a few flatline 400 thru it at 314 fps but they control issues downrange at the target i could see the tail of the arrow moving back and forth on it's way to the target so went to the 340 and that went away.
    Anyway thanks for posting.

Those are some amazing stats. I purchased the 340 this year and am using 419grain arrows (total weight w/ Fletching, Wrap, Insert and 100gr FT. My best speed through the chrono was 310fps. I shot a couple of lighter arrows through the chrono and have no trouble reaching the advertised IBO. I am not a brand follower and have no problem shooting whatever bow I think is the best and all I can say is that I am very impressed with the Destroyer.

Petersen's Bow Hunting Radio has a great interview with Mat McPherson he talks about the new Z7 and the direction the industry seems to be going. The Z7 would be right up there on my list of bows.

Agreed! Nice rig! It's almost enough to make me get something besides my Drenalin..... almost.:D

Incidentally, I've wanted to try that rest since I first saw it. Glad to hear it works for ya.

All right, just let me say this......The .400 should fly WORSE out of the D350 than out of the Z7 because it packs so much more energy. And if you're shooting a .400 arrow out of that D350 you're absolutely NUTS!!! But make sure you take some pictures because you could be famous.....

    :jaw:

That speed demon of a bow should have a .300 or stiffer at that DL and weight.....EVEN if you were to cut the arrow down to an almost ridiculous 26", you still need something in a .300 spine!!!! Glad you're enjoying it, but BE SAFE as well. No need to end up with lifetime disability d/t a "need for speed!!!"

Take it easy ohio maybe go back and re-read the post, I am shooting a 340 spline arrow out of the bow @ 360 grains at 28'' long and thats over IBO specs and they shoot very well thru the destroyer, and the z7 and right in line with spline chart with a 85 grain tip.

And yes i tried to shoot the 400 spline in the z7 but the didn't shoot well so after a few shots i went to the 340's
and i shot the 400's on three shots on the chrono on both bows to see what the bow does with a legal IBO arrow I already new they would not be good shooting after running them thru the z7.

I bought the bow for speed and i am over the min weights for warranty and IBO arrow weight numbers... I will be ok. I have been doing this for a long time.

Is that a new type of hand mounted arrow rest??? sorry i had to.
the carbon arrows i have been shown brake right where that arrow is in the guys hand.. I have never had a carbon arrow brake in my 40 years of archery, yes i have seen a few laying around a few pro shops but i dont know what they where shooting into either..?
    Thanks for the concern.

    UM,
The post was in part serious, and in part jest. I HOPED that you weren't shooting those .400's out of it, and assumed as much as I read, but I've seen some crazy things by people I thought KNEW a lot more.....:D That bow being similar to the 82nd I had I'd have expected to throw a .340 RIGHT like my 82nd did, but I also was shooting a touch longer arrow with a 100gr tip, but even at 64-65#, I still had "Right" flyers....
