That buck on the passenger side of the bed has a pretty neat left side. Couple(?) acorn tips and a hole in the end of the main beam.

Gotta ask this as well, you have a euro mount thread out there or coming? You made pretty quick work of it and it turned out really well. Think that is going to be the only thing in the budget if I should happen to lay one down, read quite a few different ways, from boiling to power washing.

Thanks so much for this thread. vthunter and I really enjoy living out the bow season we are missing out on by reading everyone's stories. It definitely helps pass the time and keeps us motivated! You have a real talent for writing and storytelling RC, thanks again, and please keep 'em coming!

Thanks guys. I use the DON'T BOIL method.

    1. Skin the head (leave the brain and eyes and bottom jaw and tongue in place.

    2. Place in large enough kettle to cover entire skull with water.

    3. Simmer on low heat (never bring to a boil) for 8 hours.

    4. remove any meat the clings. (Most will just fall off)

    5. replace water and add some Dawn Dishwashing soap to cut the grease. Simmer until the rest of the meat falls off

    6. rinse and scrape off any reaming bits. Use a needle nose pliers to remove nose cartilage.

    7. Wash again in Dawn and oxi clean.

    8. Rinse and let dry for about a half hour. You will be able to see any spots you missed that still have meat or fat. Scrape accordinly.

But I must say these Euro directions are a little lacking for you...I thought we'd have a full page multi-pic right up on the Euro Mount :poke: We'll let you off this time...Again - congrats on a great weekend
