About 12 days back I missed a rabbit twice while coming back from a turkey hunt In back of my house. This evening I walked on over to the neighbors to check up on her place being she's somewhere In Florida visiting her relatives. I brought my recurve with In case one of them pesky rabbits was out and sure enough I spotted one about 50 yards away. I got with In 30 yards and figured I better not push It any closer and slung an arrow at It, I shot right over It's back just missing It. I was Impressed even though I missed. I slowly walked and got my arrow and saw the same rabbit at about 20 yards this time. It ended up being his last move.:d The FMJ's I'm shooting have the big 1.5" Snuffers on them and man did they prove that. My arrow gutted the rabbit out and cut him In 2 pieces, I couldn't believe It!! I've shot 100's of rabbits and never have I cut one In 2. On the way back to the house I saw another rabbit which was about 40 yards away and I thought to myself, why not. I shot right over his back just missing, another 1/2" I bet and he would of been a goner too. It was a good night of shooting being I haven't shot much the last 2 to 3 weeks. Let me tell ya the mosquitoes were out In full force tonight (B&C ones)!! I was loaded full of them while I was at full draw shooting at these rabbits, It was good practice In real hunting conditions no doubt. A good tune up for bear hunting one could say (mosquitoes are even worse up there)!

    Nice!

I missed 3-4 blackbirds over the last couple days. Mostly shooting short...but I am shooting at like 30-40 yds. They don't let you get any closer.

Talking about big mosquitoes, this one time my father and I rode horses in to fish a high alpine lake. We tied the horse up to a tree and walked the last 500 yards to the water's edge. After a day of fishing, we returned to find the horses had been eaten by two mosquiteos. The bloody bastards were throwing horse shoes to see which of them got to eat the saddles!

Great story Steve...sounds like you had a nice walk in the park!
