Hey guys, I have not posted anything in a long time...but I thought this would be worth posting. I started college this year and I am playing football for Glenville State College in WV. So my hunting was very very limited this year almost none at all. We started winter break last week, so I would finally have time to hunt! I headed out Tuesday morning expecting not to see much at all. Incredibly this guys comes in, he come in to 37 yards I draw to take the shoot and make marginal shot....I backed out as soon as I found my arrow I knew I hit him back. Well we wait 6 hours go back for the recovery and there he is about 150 yards down the trail! I couldn't be anymore happier. We have never seen this buck, he ended up grossing at 146 1/8 and netted 139 /48. I could not be anymore proud!
Beauty of an eight! Congrats on making the most out of your limited opportunities to get in a stand! Sounds like you did everything right after the shot and were rewarded!
Thats a nice buck congrats, next time you take photos with an antlered deer you should try to grip the antlers a little higher that way it doesnt look like your trying to press other antlers on to your deers head. I know that isnt the case just saying though.
