Picked up a REALLY NICE 2007 Bowtech Tomkat w/ a Hostage rest, 3 pin Tru-Glo sight, and a quiver for $150!!! :tu: :woot: Gonna be up in the flatlands next weekend and try to get him all set up... Nice bow for $150, especially with the sight, rest, and quiver included. I can only find a couple marks from set screws and a couple little marks from where it looked like someone set the bottom limb pocket against something. Strings are BRAND NEW, and the bow was sighted in in 5 shots. 28" DL for a kid thats 5'10" tall should be perfect. Gonna be a fun weekend next weekend.....

I not saying I'm gonna be able to teach him how to hunt, I'm not that good at it myself.... :D, but I can teach him how to shoot a little bit. I got his 16 yr old brother a bow for Christmas last year, and he practiced throughout the spring and summer, and this fall. We got him BH tuned to the point he was pretty good at 25yds, and I put a 25yd leash on him. He arrowed the first deer he ever shot at the Friday after Thanksgiving from 19yds, and the look on his face that the thrill I could see him experiencing was better than any of my kills. Now I'm gonna try to duplicate this with the little brother. No one else in the family hunts so I'm their link to the outdoors...

I did the same thing for my nephew last fall. It's rewarding to get others into hunting.

I'm probably gonna lose what once was one of my good places to hunt between he and his brother, but for them to have fun and learn and enjoy the woods is well worth it. What we had to hunt on the in-laws places is only big enough for a couple hunters really, but being able to share this passion with them is certainly worth losing a place to hunt.

    Hoyt,
It was a heck of a deal indeed. I'd been looking around for a while, and when I saw this one, I couldn't quite pass it up. Too good to be true....

What a bargain , I'm after something similar for my Boys and my G/F , 50# max . Over here you just don't get them kinda deals . Tomkat is a great bow too by all accounts , congrats on the purchase and let the good times roll :)
