Went out over the weekend. What a gorgeous weekend to be out. I got to my stand just before 5am on saturday and no longer sat down and hung my bow on the hanger and heard movement coming from east. I could make out a body but couldnt see any bone. I figured it was a doe. it was just at that light transition stage to where you could make out the body, but couldnt get a clean shot because I couldnt tell the angle she was standing at. Anyway, she approached the scrape I was hunting over, took a pee in it and went about her way. I sat there for about another 30 minutes when I hear movement coming in from the east again. It was coming in FAST. I knew without a doubt it was a buck. I looked to the east and sure as heck I see horns coming through the thicket along the pond. I grabbed my bow and watched as he came on the same trail the doe came on. He was on a mission. He got behind a couple trees. I draw my bow. He comes in and tears the hell out of the scrape and thrashes the licking branch. I was thinking to myself "now just move your leg forward about 1 -2 inches." He did. I settled my pin about 1 inch low and let the arrow fly. The arrow hit, and the blood was spraying all over the place...but I got a little worried when I heard that unforgettable THWACK sound we dont want to hear. He jumped straight up, and tunred and went for the river, the blood was running out of him like he was hit with a 12gauge slug. I got a little worried when he jumped a dead pine log and headed for the river, im thinking great now I got to go get my boat..he turned and went back to the east and fell over dead no more than 30 yards from the scrape. The Rage did its job. Ive never seen a blood trail like this in my life. Litterly a trail sprayed 10 feet out on both sides of him. I sat there and waited for about another hour hoping something else would come through but no luck. I was anxious to see what it was. I thought he as a 6 maybe an 8. When I got to him, I couldnt beleive what I had down. I counted 10 points with a double G2. Not split but a Double! I let out a wahoo!!! My brother in law was hunting the opposite side of the property and heard me. Well being that I didnt have my knife on me I decided to walk back up to the car, about a 1/2 mile to the field, got in the car and drove over to where I had put Jason. I parked far enough away from him so I didnt disturb his hunt. I flased my lights at him and he came to me. Told him what I had and he said he figured I had something as he heard me yell wahoo...lol. Anyway, we went back to the farm to get the father in law and the gator and headed back up. Got a couple pics, cleaned him out, loaded him up, took him back to the farm loaded him in the car, took him to town to get registered and got him back to the farm and hung up so we could move a stand and hunt the rest of the day. The rest of the weekend was uneventful. Well now you know the rest of the story. Hes posted in the team 18 thread.

Why cant I post him in here??
