hi! I know I was talking about these broadheads, but would like to hear about your experience, and how it behaves at 40 yards, this is the maximum for me and my hunting distance, and price is very good!
They are great broadheads in my opinion. I use the 100gr. MX3's. I can't speak on the 40 yard performance on an animal, my absolute max on an animal right now is 30, but I have shot my target from 40 yards with them and they work great for me. I shot my doe last season with them from 15 yards and she ran maybe 20 yards and fell over dead. It was a good shot that I put on her so its not as though that will happen everytime obviously. But I'm very pleased with the heads and, you're right, can't beat the price for them.
I shoot MX-3 and have killed deer with them every year for the last 4 years. That's how long I have been shooting them. Blood trails always seem to be small but with most of the animals they have dropped within 100 yards, my buck last year went about 40 yds. I have thought about switching but I don't want to shoot an expandable and I believe expandables tend to give a better blood trail when they work correctly.
Great broadhead. I shot them for years, 40 kills. i now shoot Hellrazor and Montec for distance accuracy and durability. I shoot broadhead 3d's and hunt the west.
They are good, I switched to phantoms because I like the cut on contact design, but mx-3s are a fine broadhead.
Mine fly great for me. As long as your bow is tuned you shouldn't have any issues with the flight of the MX-3's.
I shot Muzzy for over 10 years. Last fall I shot the MX3. In their defense I made an iffy shot; upper leg bone into the heart. But that one shot bent the ferrel so bad I couldn't get the tip off to change the blades. I have made that same shot once with the old standard Muzzy 100's and I just changed the blades and used it again.
this is good to know, and now i dont know what i think about this BH....in one side i love muzzy beacause they have practice blade, but other side seems to me its not tough build bh....
I shot the 125 out of a crossbow last year. At 40yds and father they where dead ringers. And the doe I shot at 32yds didn't like it.
I have shot them and I personally couldn't get them to tune exactly like my field points and I'm not expert at tuning but my bow is pretty well tuned. I have had problems with muzzy tuning well in the past so I don't know if it is just me or if it is something to do with my bow or the broadheads themselves. I heard Muzzy was purchased by the company that owns Rage and Nockturnals so I think the quality of the broadheads will become better. All that being said they seemed to hold up well to all the shots I made with them and I got very good penetration in my target as well. If it wasn't for the tuning issue I would have definitely used them to hunt with. Try them and see what you think, my experience with fight could have been just me and my bow not being tuned precisely so don't let this detour you from using them. Good Luck and Happy Hunting
I have some MX3s and love them. I can group them with my broadheads at 60 yards. My brother took a nice buck last year at 30 yards and the deer didn't make it 30 yards. As long as your bow is tuned well, you can't go wrong.
I've shot Muzzy for years but not the MX-3. I like them a lot and like the price. Plus I just save the blades from the ones I've shot at deer and use them for practice.
