I know this is for bowhunting equipment but the is the only forum I go to for help. I want to by a muzzleloader with a would stock for around $500. The only one I could find was a lyam in that price rang. If any one has any opinion or suggestions it would be appreciated.

Are you looking at traditional or in-lines? If traditional, the Lyman is about the best dollar value in a new sidelock. I have been muzzleloading since 1973, but know nothing about in-lines.

I own a CVA Wolf. Like 130 bucks at wally world. It has been a good straight shooting gun. I also own a Traditions .54 with a side lock and octogon barrel. It was a good gun to me in the younger years of muzzleloading.
