I searched for it but couldn't seem to find a thread that would help new and maybe some veteran archers as well. Just thought it might be a good idea. I know it will help me because there are not that many DIY bow hunters here in the islands and because of the lack of a variety of animals to hunt. What tools do you not leave the house with whether it is target shooting or stalking the big buck? Do they change with the prey? What tools do you keep at home to keep your bow in top shooting form and for quick fixes if something goes wrong?
Depends on how far into the weeds of tuning you want to get. Are you wanting to do everything yourself or are you just interested in general maintenance?
I was thinking general maintenance. I know for now thats all i'd be able to do. I know I want to work up to be able to do it all on my own.
Allen wrench set, Gerber multi pliers, d-loop rope just some main things to carry. If you can get a portable bow press that works on your bow thats a plus.
Serving thread Serving tool (Every archer should learn and know how to properly reserve a string.) Allen wrenches Field press 36 - 48" light weight tape measure broadhead hones (if your blades aren't replaceable) This will allow you to do just about anything that needs to be done on your bow including; installing peeps, changing or adjusting strings and cables, adjusting poundage, setting up rests and sights, repairing/replacing worn servings, setting cam rotation and synchronization and basically anything that you need to do to become self reliant in bow tuning, maintenance and repair. Any other tools that you get would be just to help do it faster, easier or better.
