What would you consider "must have" gear? Obviously, you should have your bow, arrows and a release, but what else is in your gear bags?

Warm socks and base layers. This last year had a few miserable mornings and if I didn't have layers I wouldn't have been out.

Gloves and a face mask. I don't do that face painting. Just not my thing. Also a good flashlight helps when you shoot something right before dark and have to track it down in the dark.

My phone. It's my journal, gps, trail cam photo viewer, scouting map, emergency radio, weather forecaster, video camera, and oh yeah, phone. Soon it will also be my lavalier mic recorder too.

I didn't think to post mine. My must haves are optics (spotting scope, binos and rangefinder) and two way radios. Helps to keep track of the deer while in stalking in close.

I rarely go anywhere with out some sort of first aid gear, and I never go in the woods with out it.

    And a plan.

Knife will be at the top of my list because of where I hunt and I always tell someone where I'll be and what time to expect me home!

I don't use my phone much while I'm in the stand but it is important that I always have it and a backup charger bc I do most of my hunting solo and 30+ minutes away from everyone. I have to keep in touch with family to let them know I got in/out okay

The most important piece of equipment next to your bow is your safety harness in my opinion

Well said, if my feet or skin gets cold I'm done for. Warm socks and good base layers are up there on my must have list as well. A good pair of hunting boots are right up there too.
