I am going on a musk ox hunt this spring and I'm looking for advice on arrows, broadheads and any tips for my bow to deal with extreme cold temperatures. Also, any advice on clothing or other helpful tips would be greatly appreciated! Just FYI I am planning on using Easton Bowfire 330 arrows with 100 grain Hartcraft broadheads.
    Many thanks!

Bring really warm clothes, a good ''SnowGoose'' parka is a must. Stack up with hand and foot warmers along with Kamik style boots.
''Trapper style'' fur hat with ear covers works best.
A polar fleece face mask is also a must to avoid freezing your nose.

Also, good UV sunglasses, high sun on white snow gets quite blinding.

I've live two years on Baffin Island (Eastern Arctic) and it gets scary cold, and even in March/April you can get below 40 temps and blizzards.

Good side is that days are long with lots of daylight and there's a good ''crust'' on the snow so it's easier to walk or snowmobile.

You will probably feel silly packing up all that really hot gear when the flowers are starting to blossom at home and you're running around in T-shirt... but beware it is still VERY COLD and very much winter.

I've seen snow every month of the year there... even in July!

Muskox hang out in groups, and form circles when threatened so your guide needs to isolate one, otherwise all you see is a bunch of heads with no shot possible. They also smell a lot... really stinky beasts.

I haven't shot any with a bow, just with my camera on Sommerset Island.
But with the thick wooly fur, I would use a fairly heavier Arrow then what you use for deer.

Enjoy the trip and send us pics...

I would ask the guide what he recommends. Good luck it sounds fun.
