believe me, i know exactly why this thing is a bargain... if you want to try a nice strat get your hands on a Rory Gallagher tribute... that thing is THICK with tone and plays like a monster... if I had to have only one guitar the rest of my life, that would be the one... but even used they are upwards of $3000+, an amazing guitar... I like the SRV neck, thick and meaty, I just wish they made that guitar in nitro finish as it deserves to be... and I can do without the gold hardware...

The SRV was not a "right out of the box" guitar. I think after 6mths to a yr of breaking in, it became the guitar it was intended to be. It was a tone monster. Cranked to 10 on the Blues Deluxe, it had "it".

Dude, the gold hardware made it have some serious character. Lol

Another guitar, that I don't seem to have a picture of was the PRS Singlecut 10 Top. Man, that thing was wicked. The neck was just to much for my arthritic hand. It would wail though.

    LA,

I am digging the pics of some of your old stuff. It's cool to see what has come and gone.

I am mostly an acoustic guy myself as I like to play country and bluegrass mostly. I am used to discussions about solid tops and different kinds of bracing instead of all this electric mumbo jumbo :D

Jimmitch, either you work for Gibson, your single, or you just have more money than you got sense (and an understanding mate. LOL Man what an impressive collection.

I could never cough up the change for those. Even if I had the money.

    I'm in! uploadfromtaptalk1377836692136.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1377836830018.jpg

    Front to back-
    PRS SE Singlecut
    Ibanez RG 4QM
    Ibanez RG 320
A couple of Squier Strats that I use to teach
Alvarez acoustic, not sure which model

Top amp is a Crate Vintage Club 50. One of the best unknown amps ever made. It was the last model Crate made in the US before the company was sold, so when it was designed, the engineer who designed it did so without any regard to cost. Amazing amp, and a TOTAL bargain. 4 12ax7 and 4 el84 tubes.

Bottom amp is also a Crate. That's a solid state though. The preamp on the VC50 is plugged into the power amp of the SS. Produces a much tighter bottom end than a normal vintage style tube amp, but still reacts like tubes.
