I've been hooked on this band for a few years now. A band of Frenchmen, singing in English, about the environment, with a Japanese name, Gojira
And of course, I'm a maggot at heart listening to Slipknot as always.

    Love me some Gojira.

Spiritbox has been my jam as of late. And I'm stoked for the new I Prevail album coming out soon. Trauma was on non-stop repeat for a few months when it first came out. Hoping this one is even half as good as that album was.

My son is playing in the all-star game for baseball tonight, but if for some reason it gets rained out (fingers kind of crossed) I'm going to head down to see Memphis May Fire and From Ashes to New.

I listen to just about everything but jazz/polka/classical. Some of the things I've "liked" on Spotify recently.

I'm officially the old dude in the pit these days. It's a good cardio workout.

Outside of hunting and fishing, music is probably my next favorite thing in life. I've been going to metal shows since the mid 90's - back in the Pantera/White Zombie days.

Today's jam is the forthcoming We Came As Romans album.

I'm a country guy at heart but metal/screamo is likely next on my list.

Nice! Outside of hunting and model railroading (My other hobby) I'm right there with you on music. I played the drums back in the 90s throughout highschool. Back in the 90's, every bar in Massachusetts had a stage and bands played. There was none of this :dan:sports bar crap there is today. All the local sports teams sucked, and if you went out, you were going out to see a band. I saw Godsmack back in 96'ish in small clubs in Boston before they got signed, the Avalon, The Middle East, The Paradise. Smoked a joint with Sully Erna on a few occasions too! I saw Staind in the same clubs as well before they got big.

Getting old sucks. I can't go in the pit anymore cause I'm too much of a neurological risk if I get hit in the head. I still go to shows, me, my wife and my 21-year-old son have season lawn passes to the Xfinity Center. Nothing beats live music!! My wife of course isn't a fan of heavy rock/metal, so my son and I put up with the Bro-country shows, and she puts up with our music. Some pretty good ones coming up for us this year, Rob Zombie, Mudvayne, Megadeath, Shinedown, Korn, Breaking Benjamin, to name a few. My son and I are going to NYC in August to MSG to see the Commie/socialistRage Against the Machine, and heading up to Boston in August as well to see Godsmack in a small venue.

Me and my son at a show a few weeks ago

I've never been to spend big on earphones and stuff. My son bought me some good earphones a couple weeks ago and I was amazed at the clarity and detail I heard.

Heard this song on a recent movie I'd watched. Played it with the new earphones. Wow.

I refuse to spend my money to see RATM, but man I jammed those first two albums non-stop during high school. I vividly remember listening to Evil Empire on my Sony Discman while walking to my friend's house after school my freshman year. Probably a decade ago after a Machine Head/Hellyeah concert, I ended up at a bar with Phil Demmel (MH guitarist) watching a local cover band, slamming beers and we sang Bulls on Parade at the top of our lungs. Man, that was a good night.

I was (and still am) a HUGE Mudvayne fan and cannot wait to see them next week in Milwaukee. I may be more excited for this show than anything I've seen in a long time. I can't remember how many times I've seen them through the years, but it's a lot. That will be a show where I spend the whole night in the pit for sure.

I also have tickets for Electric Callboy in October and last night Sevendust announced a show about 15 minutes from my house in September. And I'm still kicking around the idea of driving a few hours to see A Day to Remember, Beartooth and Bad Omens next month.

Today I'm jamming some old Asking Alexandria. Man, I wish they would go back to this style but unfortunately, that ship has sailed.

Jeez, you guys are just as "all over the place" as I am. I was raised in a house where "hard rock" was the devil's music. Bless em, my folks were just doing what they thought was best. I still remember hearing STP Core for the first time and down the rabbit hole I went. I know they aren't hard core, but it wasn't long before I was into metal and harder rock. Now days it is mostly a mix of (not country radio) country and a wide range of heavy metal/rock. Also, thanks for all the links above. Added some stuff to my workout mix and my workout is coming up soon. Currently jamming to Korn, Freak on a Leash"!

Korn was my very first CD. Parents got it for my birthday. Weird that it's one of my vivid life memories.

Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power was my first real "metal" album that I owned. I was into GNR, Motley Crue, Poison, etc in the early 90's, then the grunge scene with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, etc, but that Pantera album was the turning point that got me into the harder stuff. When Korn came along I couldn't get enough of that album which then spiraled into the whole nu-metal trend with Deftones, Limp Bizkit and others. Family Values '98 was right after I graduated high school and remains one of my most memorable concerts of all time. Orgy, Ice Cube, Rammstein, Limp Bizkit, Korn.

During the mid-late 00's I fell into a bro-country kick and abandoned a lot of metal for a few years. I got big into Zac Brown, Justin Moore, and Eric Church's "Chief" album. Did a lot of country concerts during that time and I will admit the scenery is SUBSTANTIALLY better than metal shows. :moose:

But after a while, I started to feel like it all sounded the same and had the same shallow messaging, and I really fell out of it and back to my roots. Kinda bummed I missed a lot of the early days of some of the screamo/metalcore bands that I really love now. AA being one of them. I've seen them 3 times in the last few years with the "new" version of Danny Warsnop and it's a bit of a snooze fest.

Their first CD was great! I saw Korn open for Ozzy in 1995. someway somehow I've seen them live more than any other band, 9 or 10 times.

I've listened to a ton of Asking Alexandria (almost all old stuff)... How have I not heard that song? Those 2 breakdowns are "SICK"

Most of these bands are now on the classic rock station…we’re getting old. Not sota old, but climbing that ladder.
