Bought tickets last night when I realized who the opening act is, first concert ever I am as excited for the opening act as the main event. Dwight Yokam and the Mavericks. Music from the 90's
So yesterday we are at the hotel and it dawned on us to see who is wearing up for Turnpike, oh it was the Red Clay Strays a band we all like very much. It was awesome cold and windy and then we got rained on concert went from 6:30 to 10:45. Good times.
This is the first song I learned to play and sing to, on guitar. An all-time favorite of mine. I played a gig Saturday night and opened with Can't You See. We are headed to Hinterland Music Festival for the long weekend. Looking forward to Noah Kahn, Hozier, Vampire Weekend, Mt. Joy, Red Clay Strays, Orville Peck and many others. Our son's and their ladies will be joining us. Always a great time.
They are definitely a must on my list also. I have not seen them live yet and excited that they were on the list this year.
I forgot to leave a review and let people know if they have any reservations about buying a ticket to see Dwight, do not hesitate. He did all his hits, one into another his voice is still strong he played well 0ver an hour and a half. The Mavericks put on a good show too, being in central Minnesota there were people in the aisles were polka dancing to the Mavericks songs. Pretty much affirmed my theory that mariachi music is Mexican polka music, not an insult I am a fan. I am like the old man with the radio in the movie The Three Burials Of Meluiades who asked Tommy to shoot him. I can't understand a word but I love the beat.
My friend told me that I'm great at playing electric guitar and should create my own band. Now I'm thinking about it seriously...
Post Malone's country album is one of the better albums I've heard in awhile. I don't listen to a lot of country music, but this album has me hooked. If you have a daughter and listen to Yours without tearing up, you're a better man than me.
KKTX Hits so heavy!!! I finally get to see them this October when they open for Lorna Shore. I absolutely love NY Hardcore, and these guys are pretty much the same thing, just the Texas version. Theory of Mind Resentment High Hopes Mother of god, the pits are drop dead brutal and the crowd killing is insane. SO MUCH ENERGY!!
It's been a slower concert season for me this year with my son getting ready to move to Knoxville. I was able to see so far in 2024: Aaron Lewis, Lee Brice, Phish, Kenny Chesney, Slipknot (amazing 1999 setlist), and going to see Rob Zombie tonight , and still have upcoming: Korn/Gojira, Lorna Shore/White Chapel/KKTX/Sanguisagabog. I'd really love to go to the New England Hardcore & Metal Fest with Slaughter to Prevail headlining. Unfortunately, I have to go to my sister's 9th wedding that weekend.
Funny, I was just jamming some KKTX this morning at the gym. I'm old, broke, and have no time to get to a lot of shows anymore. I'm going to see Wage War/ERRA/Thrown in a couple of weeks and I think that will be my last show for this year. Looking forward to that one, though!
These guys are my latest jam. I've been listening to these guys on Saturdays for a few hours while I cut my lawn on my riding mower and a tiny bit of 420.
